Just call it a toilet!

The India Habitat centre (IHC), New Delhi is the place to go for (free) Indian classical music and dance. And then you can head to Khan Chacha’s in Khan Market for a roll.

I suggest you subscribe to their daily events mailing list. Click here for their calendar of events.

But this blog post is to record my irritation with them trying to be too posh. I was looking for the “Toilet.” And then I saw: the “Toilet” is the “Cloak Room” at IHC. Where are we? In some fancy club in England?

The Cloak Room in India Habitat Center

Oh! come on! A duck is a duck is a duck. Stop calling it by non-obvious names…especially in this part of the world…

[Once inside the "Cloak Room" I could find no evidence of any place to hang a Cloak nor did I find any other Cloaks strewn about.]

Suggestion: Change to “Toilet”

Still Not Acceptable: Washroom (Too American and wannabe), Restroom (Same problem), Loo (Too propah), Lavatory (Too Raw)
