The IIT Campus is really green. Click on the photograph to see how lush it is! Some classmates of mine are in the picture but their faces are obscured. MSc friends…see if you can identify them!

Photograph of a random student at IIT Madras. Taken a loong time ago. But I really had to share this…
This is the front of a black Mumbai Taxi taken a few months back. The (old) cab numbers are usually of the form M X X 1234. X is any letter. M of course is for Maharastra the state Bombay is in.
I just thought it was interesting that the three letter prefix was MCP.

About a year ago I stumbled upon this site called Political Compass. You fill out a short (and fun) questionnaire and it will tell you where you are on the Authoritarian–Libertarian and the Left–Right Spectrum.

Can you imagine someone making fun of President Bush in front of him? This guy just does that. Rips Bush totally apart. Bush is left naked at the end of it.
One of my all time favorite videos. Lost count of the number of times I have seen it.
The American Democracy is truly great. I can never imagine this happening in any other country of the world.
Stephen Colbert Roasts Bush at Correspondent’s Dinner
Like it? Here is everything you need to know about it.

This innovative auto has a transparent plastic roof. There is an incredible sense of space when you ride it it. It was raining and things looked especially beautiful. When its hot the guy puts a non-transparent cover and it becomes like a normal auto.
Taken in Chennai, October 2006.

The cat who gave birth in my dorm corridor
IIT Madras is located in a forest and there are plenty of animals about. The wildlife lives in harmony with the human wildlife in the hostels. This little fellow below was given birth by the mother above (possibly the only female in the all boys hostel
Compare the kitten with the shoes on the right!
All this was barely 20ft from my dorm room.
We had been observing the knocked up cat for quite some time. When the cat was near its due date it kept roaming the corridor for a place to give birth — all of us kept hoping that the messy event does not happen in our room or just outside it (The cat had a habit of constantly scoping out potential sites for giving birth and once into your room took a lot of coaxing to send out).
And then one day we saw two kittens! One kitten died within the first few days (we are not clear what happened…whether another animal ate it or it died). Unfortunately this (above) kitten too did not survive more than a couple week. Nature is cruel.
Here is a video I shot from my Nokia.
